Inzaghi out of Euro 2008 Squad
AC Milan’s Filippo Inzaghi is excluded from the 24-man draf squad for the Azzurri’s Euro 2008 campaign despitee the recent rich of form. Inzaghi, together with club mate Massimo Oddo, are said to be excluded for being prone to injury. Mean while, Antonio Cassano is a surprise inclusion in the 24-man draft Italy squad.
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero, 33, is included after scoring 21 goals this term to finish as the top flight’s leading scorer, winning the golden boot award. This is his best scoring season since 1997/1998, which is 10 years ago. Juve’s clubmate and World Cup Winner Vincenzo Iaquinta, who are struggling with injuries are also excluded.
